Career Highlights:
Born in New York City, Brown began his professional boxing career as a teenager in the late 1910s. In October 1921, he fought former world bantamweight champion Kid Williams and lost a 12-round decision. Two years later, in December 1923, Brown lost a ten-round decision at Madison Square Garden to Mike Ballerino, the future world junior lightweight champion. In May 1925, the two fighters had a rematch that ended in a 12-round no decision -- the bout was Ballerino's first after capturing the world title.
