Nathan Bor

Bor, fighting for the United States, won the Olympic bronze medal as a lightweight at the 1932 Olympics.

Career Highlights:
In 1932, Bor was the U.S. champion in the 135 pound weight class, and won the bronze medal at the Olympics. Upon his return from the Olympics, Bor turned professional and had his first pro fight in his hometown of Fall River, Massachusetts. On October 5, 1932, he knocked out Boston fighter Al Hope in the first round of their bout. One year later, Bor fought in Brooklyn, New York against Ted Ball, and won in the second round when Bell took a nine count. In 1937, Bor lost a 10-round decision to Andre Jesserun in May, then was knocked out in the sixth round against Ralph Zannelli -- a future No. 1 welterweight contender -- in Zannelli's hometown of Providence, Rhode Island.
