Oz, Hagit

Oz was for a time, one of the best kiteboarder's in the world and took third place in the 2002 World Championships. Originally a windsurfer, Hagit fell in love with the kite-boarding extreme sport event while on leave from the army.

Career Highlights:
In the 2001-2002 season, three events were held in Israel at Beit-Yanai, Caesarea and Eilat respectively. The rookie kiteboarder, Hagit Oz won first place in all three competitions. In 2001 Hagit participated in her first World Championships in Brazil and placed 7th, despite her lack of experience. By 2002 Oz was a regular participant in the international kiteboarding tour (the KPWT) and was ranked first in the world in Air Time. She ranked third in the KPWT overall that year. Hagit also won the Israeli championship in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Hagit is no longer ranked in the KPWT top 16, as of March 21, 2005.
