Maurice Dubofsky

Dubofsky played football in the late 1920s then returned as line coach after playing one season in the NFL. Since 1980, Georgetown football has given the Dubofsky Award to the outstanding student-athlete on the team.

b. 1909 - d. January 25, 1970

Career Highlights:
An offensive lineman, Dubofsky was named AP All-East honorable mention while playing at Georgetown and the Hoyas had a record of 5-5-0 in 1930. The following year, Mush was AP All-America honorable mention, and captain of the football team as Georgetown had a record of 4-5-1. After graduating in 1932, Mush played in five NFL games for the New York Giants (4-6-2, fifth in the league).
Dubofsky then returned to Georgetown and became the line coach until the school discontinued big-time football in 1951. In 1968, Mush returned to Georgetown as head coach of the football team and had a combined record of 8-4 in his two seasons (1968 and 1969). Dubofsky is a member of the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Dubofsky played guard at Georgetown University from 1929-1931. He then played guard in the NFL with the New York Giants in 1932.
