Richman, Harry

Harry Eugene Richman

Richman was an offensive lineman at the University of Illinois in the late 1920s and helped the Illini capture the national championship in 1927 (recognized by the Helms Foundation).

Career Highlights:
Richman played guard at Illinois for some terrific Illini teams in the late 1920s. In 1927, they had a record of 7-0-1 and tied for the Big Ten championship by going 5-0-0 in conference. The 1927 team also won the school's fourth and final national championship!
The following year, the Illini won the Big Ten with a 4-1-0 conference record; they had a regular season record of 7-1-0. Their only loss was to Michigan (3-0) at Michigan Stadium. During Richman's two seasons with Illinois, his team outscored their opponents a combined 297-40.
After graduating in 1929, Richman played in one game in the NFL for the Chicago Bears.
