Arthur J. Strauss

Strauss was a back who played college ball for Phillips and played in 13 career NFL games in the 1920s.

b. January 7, 1897 - d. August 10, 1969

Career Highlights:
In 1923, Strauss (who played at Phillips College) played in the NFL for the Toledo Maroons, who finished the season with a record of 5-2-2, fourth in the league. That season, Strauss had 35 rushing yards on 16 carries, two receptions for seven yards, and one interception.
The following year, Dutch played for the Kansas City Blues in their first season in the NFL; the following year, the team's name was changed to the Cowboys. The Blues finished 2-7-0, 14th in the NFL and Strauss retired after the season.

Career Dates:
Strauss played as a back at Phillips College. He then played fullback and wingback in the NFL with the Toledo Maroons in 1923 and for the Kansas City Blues in 1924.
