Walter L. Winnick

Winnick was an all-around athlete at Syracuse University, and was the MVP of the football team in 1928. He also lettered in baseball in 1927.

Career Highlights:
Winnick, who played tackle for three seasons at Syracuse in the 1920s, played his high school ball at New Utrecht in Brooklyn. During his college career, the Orangemen had a combined record of 16-9-4. In 1928, Winnick was named AP All-East honorable mention, MVP of the Syracuse team, and first team Jewish All-America (named by the Jewish Advocate). He was selected by football historian Dr. L.H. Baker as a member of Syracuse's All-Time Team.
