Richard Edward Fishel

Career Highlights:
In the early 1930s, Fishel was an excellent halfback and fullback for the Syracuse Orangemen. In 1930, he was named AP All-East honorable mention as he scored five touchdowns during the season, including two in the season finale, a 19-7 victory over Columbia. That year, Syracuse had a record of 5-2-2.

In 1931, Fishel was named AP All-America honorable mention as he scored 11 touchdowns for Syracuse, who finished with a record of 7-1-1. The following year, the Orangemen had a record of 4-4-1. Fishel, who moved to quarterback for much of the season, scored five touchdowns during the year.

After graduating in 1933, Fishel moved on to play professional football. In 1933, Fishel played in 8 games in the NFL for the Brooklyn Dodgers, where he was a teammate of quarterback Benny Friedman and lineman Saul Mielziner. That year, the Dodgers had a record of 5-4-1 and finished second in the NFL East.
