Franklin R. Meadow

After playing tackle on the freshman team at Brown, Meadow chose to study instead of play in the final game of the year, thus losing a position on the varsity his sophomore year. Two weeks into the 1931 season, he asked the coach for permission to join the varsity team, and three weeks later he started at end.

Career Highlights:
After a good 1931 season in which the Bears had a record of 7-3-0, Brown lost only one game in 1932, falling to Colgate in the last game of the season. Meadow so impressed Colgate coach Andy Kerr in that final game, that he was invited to play on Kerr's East squad in the 1933 East-West Shrine Game. That season, Meadow was named AP All-America third team, Grantland Rice All-America honorable mention.
