Nechtem, Saul

Nechtem played basketball and football at Boston University in the 1930s. He later became a high school coach and a camp director.

Career Highlights:
In 1937, Saul was named Grantland Rice All-America honorable mention. That season, Nechtem played an important part in Boston's 13-6 victory over Boston College, the first win over their arch-rivals in 40 years. Following the game, BC coach Gil Dobie said: "I've seen backs with power and backs with finesse, but give me Nechtem. He's got everything." Nechtem is a member of the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame.
