Walter Wallace Singer

Singer was an end at Syracue University in the 1930s and also played professionally in the NFL. He and his twin brother, Milton Singer both played baseball at Syracuse in 1933.

Career Highlights:
Singer played as an end at Syracuse for three seasons in the 1930s. In 1932 and 1933, the Orangemen had a combined record of 8-8-1; in 1933, Singer was named AP All-East honorable mention. In 1934, Syracuse started the season 6-0 before losing their final two games to Colgate and Columbia.

After graduating in 1935, Walt played two seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants. In 1935, Singer played in ten games for the Giants, who won the NFL East with a record of 9-3-0. In the NFL Championship game, they lost to the Detroit Lions, 26-7. One of Singer's teammates on the Giants was All-NFL quarterback Harry Newman. The following year, Walt played in all twelve regular season games for the Giants, who finished with a record of 5-6-1, third in the NFL East. He had career highs with 6 receptions for 38 yards as a receiver.

Singer retired following that season, having played in 22 NFL games for the Giants, In 1999, Walt was named The Star Ledger's All-New Jersey 1930's honorable mention (high school).
