Isadore Spector

Spector was a halfback at the University of Utah and was selected first team All-Big Seven in 1940 and 1941.

Career Highlights:
Also nicknamed "Spook," Spector grew up in Colorado and attended Grand Junction High School. In 1936, he led his team to the state championship. Spector then attended the University of Utah where he played halfback three seasons.

In 1939, the Utes outscored their opponents 261-74 and had a record of 6-1-2. Their only loss that year was to Colorado, 21-14. In their biggest game of the year, Utah defeated arch-rival Utah State by a score of 27-0 as Spector scored two touchdowns in the game. Spector also won the Big Seven Conference scoring title that year.

In 1940, Spector was named Grantland Rice All-America honorable mention, and AP All-Big Seven first team as Utah had a record of 7-2-0 and won the conference title. In 1941, Utah had its first undefeated season in over ten years, outscoring their opponents 209-65 and finished with a record of 6-0-2. Spector repeated as first team All-Big Seven as Utah again won the conference title. 'Spook' also finished second in the conference in scoring with 41 points (five touchdowns and 11 extra points), although he played in two fewer games than the conference leader - Utah had two games scheduled in Hawaii (in late December 1941)to close out the season which were cancelled due to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.
