Lankewicz, Frank

Lankewicz was a member of the University of Georgia's football team from 1962-1964, and scored the Bulldogs' only points in the 1964 Sun Bowl, a 7-0 victory over Texas Tech.

Career Highlights:
An outstanding back at Butler High School, Lankewicz played his college ball at the University of Georgia. As a sophomore in 1962, Lankewicz caught a 77-yard touchdown pass against Clemson to help the Bulldogs win the game, 24-16; it is the seventh longest pass play Clemson ever gave up. That year, the 'Dawgs suffered through a 3-4-3 season.

In 1963, Georgia compiled a mediocre record of 4-5-1. The following year, Hall of Fame coach Vince Dooley took over the Georgia program and the team reversed its fortunes. They finished the season 7-3-1 and defeated their arch-rival Georgia Tech for the first time in three years. The Bulldogs were also invited to play in the Sun Bowl. Lankewicz scored the only touchdown in the game as the Bulldogs defeated Texas Tech, 7-0.
