Bradley Martin Edelman

An All-America center at the University of Missouri, Edelman played in the NFL from 1982-1990 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1988.

Career Highlights:
Edelman had a terrific career at the University of Missouri and helped lead the Tigers to three straight bowl games. In 1979, they finished the regular season with a record of 6-5-0 and faced South Carolina in the Hall of Fame Bowl. Missouri defeated the Gamecocks, 24-14, and were ranked No. 20 by UPI. The following year, they finished 8-3-0 but lost to No. 17 Purdue 28-25 in the Liberty Bowl. In 1981, Edelman was named first team All-America at center as the Tigers finished the regular season with a record of 7-4-0. In the Citrus Bowl, they defeated No. 19 (UP) Southern Mississippi 19-17; Missouri was ranked No. 19 by the AP and No. 19 by UPI.

In 1982, he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round (30th overall) of the NFL Draft and became an important part of their success in the mid-1980s. Edelman shifted to guard for the Saints and immediately had an impact. In 1982, he and Louis Oubre became only the third rookie pair to start every game of any season since the inception of the AFL-NFL draft in 1967. Edelman played in all nine games of the 1982 strike-shortened season as the Saints finished the year 4-5. In 1983, Edelman played in all 16 regular season games for the Saints. He was a member of the 1987 (12-3) and 1988 (10-6) New Orleans playoff teams, and made the Pro Bowl in 1988. Brad retired following the 1989 season after playing in 90 career NFL games. In 1998, he was inducted to the St. Louis Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
