Chad Wayne Levitt

Levitt was considered one of the greatest running backs in the history of the Ivy League, playing at Cornell University in the mid-1990s. A three-time first team All-Ivy League selection, in 1996, Chad's senior year, he was named first team All-America and Ivy League MVP. Levitt later played ten games in the NFL in the late 1990s.

Career Highlights:
After a good freshman season, Chad excelled in 1994, rushing for over 100-yards in eight different games, including 227 yards in a 18-13 victory over Harvard. Levitt also caught a 78-yard touchdown pass in Cornell's 29-28 win over Bucknell. That year, Levitt was named first team All-Ivy League and gained 1,319 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as the Big Red had a record of 6-4-0 (3-4-0, fourth in Ivy League).

In 1995, Levitt enjoyed eight more 100-yard rushing games, including 201 yards in Cornell's 38-28 win over Brown. Cornell finished the season tied for second in the Ivy League with a 5-2-0 record (6-4-0 overall). Levitt repeated as a first team All-Ivy League selection, was the team's leader rushing (1,428 yards), and was the scoring leader with 13 touchdowns.

In 1996, Levitt was named team co-captain. He rushed for 100-yards seven times, including three games of 200 yards. Against Dartmouth, he rushed for 241 yards,and against Colgate, he had an 88-yard run. Cornell finished the season with a record of 4-6-0 (4-3-0, tied for third in the league). Once again, Levitt was the team's (and Ivy League's) rushing leader (1,435 yards) and scoring leader (14 touchdowns).

That season, Levitt was selected first team All-America, was named first team All-Ivy League for the third consecutive year, and won the Bushnell Cup as the league MVP. Chad finished his career with 4,657 yards and 44 touchdowns, which ranks second in school and Ivy League history. His 922 carries at Cornell is the Ivy League record.

In 1997, Levitt was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round (123rd overall) of the NFL Draft. After spending the 1997 season with the Raiders (4-12-0), playing in 10 games, Chad was released prior to the 1998 season. In January 1999, he was signed by the St. Louis Rams.
