David Sehres

Sehres played college ball for New York University, captaining the football team in 1923. He played professionally in the American Football League in 1926.

Career Highlights:
Sehres was the captain of the NYU football team in 1923. After his collegiate career ended, he played in the newly-formed American Football League in 1926. Sehres played that first year for the Brooklyn Horsemen who played only four games and had a record of 1-3-0.

The league was started by Red Grange's agent so that Grange could play in New York (the New York Giants owner would not forego his territorial rights to allow another NFL franchise in the area). The league lasted only one season as financial problems caused many of the teams to fold before the end of the year.
