In 1926, Greenwald started in one game at left halfback (but appeared in all the games) for the Wolverines who finished the season with a record of 7-1-0 and tied Northwestern for the Big Ten title with a conference record of 5-0-0. Led by All-Conference left tackle Ray Baer and All-America quarterback Benny Friedman, Michigan outscored its opponents 191-38 and losing only to Navy, 10-0.
