Sidney Burnstein

A back at Northwestern University from 1929-1931, Burnstein led the Wildcats to the Big Ten title in both 1930 and 1931. The year after he graduated, Burnstein died of pneumonia and was eulogized in the American Hebrew as "for three years as a star halfback...played havoc with the titular ambitions of many Big Ten football teams...an important factor in winning the Conference championships..."

Career Highlights:
A three year starter at Northwestern, Burnstein helped lead the Wildcats to a terrific record during his career. In 1929, they went 6-3 (3-2 in conference). The following year, the Wildcats finished the season with a 7-1-0 record and tied Michigan for the conference title with a perfect 5-0 mark. Then, in 1931, Northwestern finished 7-1-1 and again tied for the Big Ten title with Purdue and Michigan with a 5-1-0 conference record.

Burnstein played back at Northwestern, 1929-1931.
