Goldman, Jonah

A fullback at Syracuse University, Goldman left school to play professional baseball with the Cleveland Indians. In 1929, he was named to the All-Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) football team.

Career Highlights:
Prior to playing as a back at Syracuse University, Goldman was a star at Erasmus High School in Brooklyn and led his team to the Long Island scholastic championship as a senior in 1923. In the final, a 17-6 victory over Flushing, Goldman scored two touchdowns and was praised in the New York Times, which stated: "The fleet-footed, resourceful, alert halfback played up to his accustomed form...tower of strength." He went onto play baseball and football at Syracuse for two years before moving onto major league baseball.
