Benjamin Louis Rosenbloom

Rosenbloom received a scholarship to play football at West Virginia, which financed his way through law school. Admitted to the West Virginia bar in 1904, he served as a State Senator from 1914-1918 and was a Congressman from 1921-1925. After two unsuccessful bids for U.S. Senator in 1924 and 1934, Benjamin became the vice mayor of Wheeling, West Virginia from 1935-1939.

Career Highlights:
A football player at the turn of the century for the University of West Virgina, Rosenbloom remembered that, "During several games away from home I heard the cry of 'Kill the Jew.'"
