Louis Mervis

Mervis was an offensive lineman for the University of Pittsburgh in the late 1910s, and was named All-America honorable mention in 1918 when the Panthers won the national championship.

Career Highlights:
Mervis played tackle for the University of Pittsburgh in 1918-1919. In 1918, Louis was named Walter Camp All-America honorable mention, and helped lead Pitt to an undefeated season (9-0-0) and the national championship. In 1919, The Spalding Guide said, "In the line, Mervis was the shining star." Under head coach Pop Warner, Mervis was considered 'one of the best tackles that ever carried the Blue and Gold colors,' but missed the second half of the 1919 season due to injury.
