Herman W. Sawyer

Sawyer played football at Syracuse University in 1919 and in the NFL in the 1920s.

Career Highlights:
Sawyer played as a back at Syracuse in 1919. That season, the Orangemen had a record of 8-3 and outscored their opponents 123-47. After graduating, Sawyer played in the NFL with the Rochester Jeffersons. In 1922, he appeared as a wingback and blocking back in three games for Rochester which had a record of 0-3-1 and finished in fifteenth place in the NFL. The Jeffersons were coached by Sawyer's former teammate at Syracuse, offensive lineman Joe Alexander.
