Career Highlights:
In 1933, Kalbfleisch signed with the Ottawa Senators of the NHL after spending the previous four years in the Canadian Junior and Senior Leagues. That season, he played in 22 games and registed all four career assists (and points), but the Senators finished last in the Canadian Divison with a record of 13-29-6. In 1934, the Ottawa franchise was relocated and became the St. Louis Eagles. Kalbfleisch remained with the team during the transfer but only appeared in three games for the Eagles. After the St. Louis franchise folded following the 1934-35 season, Jake was claimed in the Dispersal Draft by the New York Americans. He spent most of the season in the minors, but played in four regular season games and five playoffs games that year for the Americans (who lost in the semifinals). In 1936-37, Kalbfleisch played six games for the Americans before being traded to the Boston Bruins in the middle of the year. He played one game for the Bruins before being sent to the minors. He never returned to the NHL.
