A pioneer of women's hockey, Weinberg starred for the U.S. National team in the early 1990s, before the sport was added to the Olympic program. Weinberg is currently a broadcaster of college hockey for College Sports TV.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Weinberg played four seasons with the Wildcats and helped them win three national titles in four years. Weinberg finished her career with six goals and 32 assists. At the 1992 World Championships, the U.S. won the silver medal and Weinberg, a defender, was named to the tournament's all-star team.
