Alberman, Gal

Alberman is a talented young player who broke into the Maccabi Petah Tikva first team and national team at the age of 19. Avraham Grant called him up to the Israeli National team in November, 2002. His potential is enormous as he is equally at home tackling opponents and creating chances. Gal has an eye for goal as well.

Career Highlights:
Alberman made sparse appearances for Maccabi Petah Tikva during the 2000-01 and 2001-02 campaigns, though the organization was aware of his promise. In 2002-03, made two goals and added three assists. Gal's performance helped Maccabi achieve a suprisingly high sixth place finish ahead of teams with a budget twice the size. On the national team, Gal was a starter for Israel against Macedonia on November 20, 2002, and was involved in two goals in the 3-2 win.

Alberman was a key play in Maccabi Petah Tikva's overachieving 2003-04 team. He started 20 league games, scoring 4 goals while making three assists. Most importantly his defensive work-rate in midfield was invaluable to the team. Gal will continue to play a crucial role for Hapoel in 2004-05.
