Leslie Pollack

In August 2003, Pollack and his daughter Jennifer (who played for Tufts) won their first national title at the USTA Super Senior Grasscourt Father-Daughter Championship at Boston's Longwood Cricket Club. In 2001, Les and Jennifer had been rated No. 8 nationally in the USTA senior father-daughter division.

A good junior player, Les was ranked No. 2 in the Eastern Association's 15-and-under category in 1948. That same year, he was No. 20 nationally among players of that age group. In 1951, he was ranked No. 15 nationally in 18-and-under doubles, playing with Alan Englander. After a very successful business career, Les took up senior tennis, and became a ranked player. When he played for Yale (class of 1955), he was the roommate of Richard Raskind, who became the tennis pro Renee Richards.

Career Highlights:
In 2000, Pollack and his son Jonathan (who played for Columbia) had a national ranking of No. 22 in senior father-son doubles; they had been No. 3 in the East in the father-son division in 1985. Les and his daughter Jennifer were rated No. 13 nationally in the father-daughter division in 1997.
