Ike Danning

Like his more celebrated younger brother, Harry Danning, Ike was also a catcher. He played two games for the St. Louis Browns in 1928.

Career Highlights:
A three-sport star in high school at Los Angeles Polytechnic Institute, Danning began playing professional baseball in the minors in 1923. For the next five years, Ike played in the minors before he got a chance in the majors with the St. Louis Browns in 1928. Brief as his career was, Ike had a lifetime .500 batting average, going three for six with one RBI.

Danning eventually retired from baseball in 1933 and settled in Los Angeles. He worked for 34 years as the Head of Transportation at Twentieth Century-Fox.
