Farber, Neil

Farber was an outstanding basketball player, a three-time All-Ivy League selection. Neil was also named All-Ivy League in baseball as a pitcher (5-2 record) in 1963.

Career Highlights:
Farber was an excellent all-around athlete at Columbia in the 1960s. As a sophomore in 1963, Farber finished fifth in the conference in scoring (16.8 points per game), and was named All-Ivy League honorable mention. Columbia struggled during the year, however, and finished in seventh place with a 4-9 record (10-12 overall).

In 1964, Farber continued to play well and slightly improved his scoring average to 16.9 points per game, good enough for fourth best in the conference. Named second team All-Ivy League, Farber helped Columbia climb to fifth place in the conference with a 6-8 record (11-12 overall).

Farber's senior season of 1965 proved to be his best. He repeated as second team All-Ivy League and registered a career-high of 19.6 points per game (fifth in the conference). That year, he was joined as an All-Ivy selection by teammate, and junior guard, Stan Felsinger. The only members of the Columbia team to be selected All-Ivy, Farber and Felsinger led the Lions to a 5-9 conference mark and a sixth place finish (they were 7-15 overall).
