Olympic Info:
One of Israel's best kayakers, Carmi has competed in the last two Olympiads. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, she competed in the K1 500-meter event and finished sixth in her preliminary heat (1:57.67). She then moved on to the repechage (consolation) heat and finished fourth (2:05.73) to advance to the semifinals. In her semifinal heat, Lior finished in seventh place (1:54.89) and did not qualify for the final.

At the 2000 Sydney Games, Lior returned to Olympic competition and teamed with Larissa Pesakhovich in the K2 500-meter competition. They finished sixth in their preliminary heat (1:48.647) and advanced to the semifinals, but got no further after placing fifth in their heat (1:48.12).

Career Highlights:
At the 1999 European Championships, Carmi placed 5th in the K1 1000-meter, and 6th in the K1 500-meter, K2 200-meter, and K2 500-meter events (with Pesakhovich). The duo also placed sixth in the K2 500-meter race at the 2000 European Kayaking Championships.

In 2001, Lior won the bronze medal at the World Cup in the 500-meter race with a time of 1:56.06. At the 2002 World Championships, she finished in sixth place in the K1 500-meter race.
