The brother of Club Med founder and fellow National team member Gerard Blitz, Maurice competed in two Olympiads for Belgium and won two medals. After playing an important role at the 1920 Antwerp Games where the Belgians won the silver, Maurice returned to the 1924 Paris Olympics at the age of 33, but did not have as many opportunities to play. The Belgian team reached the final, but lost to France, 3-0. They then won two games against the United States to capture the silver; Maurice made his only start in the second victory over the U.S., which like the first, was a 2-1 score.

Career Highlights:
After his competitive career ended, Blitz served as a member of the Belgian Olympic Committee and the Belgian Central Swimming Federation. He also refereed many international competitions and officiated the gold medal match at the 1932 Olympics.
