Olympic Info: Szekely competed in two swimming events for Hungary at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, the 4x200-meter freestyle relay and the 100-meter individual freestyle. In the relay (with teammate Laszlo Szabados), Szekely won the bronze medal with a time of 9:31.4, only five seconds ahead of Canada and 21 seconds behind the silver medal-winning U.S. team. In his individual event, Szekely finished second in his preliminary heat with a time of 1:01.5. In the semifinals, he finished fifth in his heat (1:01.4), and did not advance to the final.
