Olympic Info:
Inbar competed in two Olympiads for the Israeli sailing team in the men's mistral (sailboard) event. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, he finished in eighth place with 118.10 points (the gold medalist had 70.70 points).

Inbar failed to qualify for the 1996 Atlanta Games(he was beaten in Israel's qualifying by Gal Friedman, who won the bronze in Atlanta), but returned to Olympic competition at the Sydney Games in 2000. Amit finished in seventh place in the mistral competition. His best result was finishing third in Race 1 (he also finished in fourth place twice), but he finished out of the top ten in seven races.

Career Highlights:
Amit began to windsurf because his brother, Eran, who was a world-class windsurfer, needed competition. Since then, Amit has become of the best windsurfers in the world. In 1991, he became world No. 1, and finished second in the board windsurfing World Championship. In 1993, he won the European Championship; in 1994, Inbar was fifth in the World Championship; and in 1997, he finished second in the World Championships.

In European competition, Inbar won the gold medal at the 1998 European Championships and the silver medal at the 2000 European Championships. He also placed fourth at the 2000 World Championships, second in the mistral at the 1998 World Championships, and won the 2000 South American Championships. In 2001, he continued to be one of the top sailboarders and was ranked as high as No. 11. Inbar then missed a few events and slipped in the rankings. As of October 1, 2002, he was ranked No. 106 in the world.
