The French team then defeated Egypt (15-1), Hungary (12-4), and Italy (8-6) to win the gold medal.

At the 1956 Melbourne Games, Netter competed in both the team and individual foil events and advanced to the finals in both competitions. In the individual competition, Netter placed sixth overall, winning three of his seven matches in the final pool. In the team competition, he won his second Olympic medal when the French team advanced to the finals and then defeated the United States and Hungary to capture the silver (they lost to Italy in the gold medal match).

Netter completed his Olympic career at the 1960 Rome Games when he fenced exclusively in the team foil competition. France advanced to the final round, but lost to Germany on a fence-off after the two teams tied 8-8 in the initial match; France officially finished in fifth place.
