Harris was a member of the fourth-place American water polo team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. During the competition, Harris scored 4 goals (tied for fifth on the U.S. team) and had one steal. The U.S. finished in second place in their preliminary group with a record of 4-1 (the Unified Team went 5-0) and then lost to Spain in the semifinal game, 6-4. In the bronze medal match, the Americans lost to the Unified Team 8-4.

Career Highlights:
In the 1980s, Harris was one of the top American water polo players, competing for the University of Southern California and the U.S. National Team. A three-time All-America at USC (1982-1984), he was also the Trojans' MVP in 1983 and 1984. In 1984, Harris scored 75 goals for USC, third-most for a single-season in school history (he is 11th all-time with 120 career goals); that year, he also scored 10 goals in the NCAA tournament, which is a record. Also in 1984, Harris joined the U.S. National Team and two years later, he helped them win the silver medal at the Goodwill Games. A graduate of Pepperdine Law School (class of '89), Harris also helped the U.S. capture the gold medal at the 1991 World Championships and a silver medal at the 1991 Pan American Games. He retired from competitive play following the 1992 Olympics.
