A member of the Israeli boxing team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Shlomo competed in the lightweight division, losing his only bout. In the first round, he fell to Asif Kamran Dar of Pakistan in a 5-0 decision.

Career Highlights:
After competing in the Olympics, Niazov turned professional and fought twice in Atlantic City in 1986. In June, he was knocked out in the fourth round by Bryant Paden. Three months later, Shlomo defeated Craig Snyder on a second-round technical knockout.
