A member of the Israeli kayaking team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Mizrahi competed in the K1 500-meter event. In the first round, he placed second in his heat with a time of 1:53.66 and advanced to the next round. In his second heat, Aviram came on strong towards the end, but finished fourth in the race, and was eliminated, with a time of 1:49.93, just 0.72 seconds from advancing to the final. In 1996, Mizrahi returned to the Olympics as the Israeli National coach.

Career Highlights:
After his competitive career ended, Mizrahi became a noted kayaking coach and trainer in Israel. Among those he coached were Olympians Michael Kalganov and Lior Carmi, who competed in the 2000 Games. Mizrahi also serves as the director of Hapoel Emek HaYarden rowing club.
