Career Highlights:
Steiner had a very good rookie season in the majors when, in 1945, he played 78 games and hit .257 for the Boston Red Sox. He also stole 10 bases that year, 9th most in the American League. In Ben's first game at Yankee Stadium, he homered, singled and stole a base. Steiner played four more games over the next two seasons for the Red Sox and Tigers.

Career Dates:
Steiner played for the Boston Red Sox, 1945-46, and the Detroit Tigers in 1947.

Second base. He played one game at third base during his second year.
