Taussig had the best season of his career with the Cardinals in 1961. He hit a healthy .287, and his 14 doubles, 5 triples and 2 home runs, in only 188 at-bats, gave him a robust .447 slugging average.

Career Dates:
Taussig played for the San Francisco Giants in 1958, the St. Louis Cardinals in 1961, and the Houston Colt .45's (Astros) in 1962.
