Career Highlights:
Before playing professionally, Kowitz was an outstanding outfielder at Clemson University from 1988-90 (one of his teammates was Mike Milchin). In 1990, Brian was the ACC Player of the Year and All-America as he hit safely in 38 straight games!. Later that year, he joined the Atlanta Braves organization, and batted a career high .302 with the Durham Bulls in 1992.

After having a terrific 1994 season at AAA Richmond, Kowitz finally made his major league debut in 1995. Promoted to the Braves after outfielder David Justice was put on the disabled list, Kowitz appeared in 10 games for the Braves, going 4-24, scoring three runs with three RBI. His stint earned him a World Series ring when the Braves won the fall classic that year.

That was Brian's only time in the majors; he moved to the Toronto Blue Jays organization in 1996, playing for AAA Syracuse. He retired following that season due to an ankle injury, and became an internet mortgage broker. Kowitz returned to professional baseball in August 2000, signing with the Aberdeen Arsenal Professional Baseball Club of the Atlantic League.
