Michael Eric Saipe

Mike started two games for the Colorado Rockies during the 1998 season. He spent the 2000 season pitching for the AAA teams of the Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, and Anaheim Angels, struggling with each of them. In 2002, Saipe pitched in the Atlanta Braves' organization for AAA Richmond. He went 4-6 with a 3.83 ERA and one save (he also started 12 games).

In 2003, he played in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and is assigned to AAA Las Vegas. During the season, Saipe started 18 games and is 6-5 with an ERA of 4.99 -- he allowed 56 earned runs in 101 innings. One of his teammates in Las Vegas was fellow pitcher Andrew Lorraine.

Career Highlights:
Saipe's brief major league career lasted only 10 innings, in which he gave up five home runs, 22 hits, and 12 earned runs, while hitting two batters. But he didn't walk anybody. Before his stint in the majors, Saipe was one of the University of San Diego's greatest pitchers. He finished his college career fourth in school history in wins (25), second in winning percentage (.735), and third in strikeouts (262).
