Saul I. Nechtem

Nechtem is a member of the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame. He played both basketball and football in the 1930s. He later became a high school coach and a camp director.

Career Highlights:
Nechtem had an excellent basketball career at Boston in the late 1930s. In 1937, he was named first team All-New England, and the Terriers had a record of 9-5. The following season, Saul repeated as first team All-New England and led Boston to a 10-6 record.

In his senior season (1939), Nechtem captained Boston to a 10-4 record. Nechtem and the Terriers were expected to have a better year, but Saul had been injured during the football season, forcing him to wear a shoulder brace, so he did not play as well as he had done during the previous two seasons. Nevertheless, Saul was named named second team All-New England.

One of Nechtem's teammates on the basketball team in 1938 and 1939 was Jack Rotman.
