Career Highlights:
Binstein played three solid seasons for Army, and was known as a terrific scorer. In 1954, the Cadets had a record of 15-7 and Binstein set the record for most field goals made in an Army-Navy game, with 15. Army won the game 85-72. The following year, Mark helped lead Army to a fine 19-9 record, and was named Converse All-America honorable mention.

In 1956, Binstein scored 50 points in a game against Rhode Island, the second highest number of points in a single game in Army history. That year, he repeated as Converse All-America honorable mention, and the Cadets had a record of 10-13. During his collegiate career, Mark played in 63 games for Army and scored 1,223 points, good enough to be Army's 13th all-time leading scorer. His 19.4 points per game average is tied for seventh place in Army history and his 1,228 field goal attempts is still sixth in school history.

After his playing days, Binstein remained connected to basketball . He became the general manager of the Pittsburgh Condors of the ABA (American Basketball Association) in 1971. Later that season, he took over as head coach after the team compiled a record of 21-53. The team folded after the 1971-72 season; they were so disregarded in Pittsburgh that they played "home" games in Birmingham and Tucson!
