Fliegel played at the City College of New York (CCNY) in the late 1910s.

Career Highlights:
Fliegel played at CCNY when the school was emerging with one of the best basketball programs in the nation. After the Beavers finished 8-4 in 1919, City College brought in the great Nat Holman as head coach, and he immediately improved the team. In 1920, Holman's first season, Fliegel captained the City squad to a record of 13-3 and it was rated as one of the top teams in the country.
