Magid, Brian

Magid played college basketball at the University of Maryland and at George Washington University. In 1977, while playing for Maryland, Brian was named All-ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) Academic.

Career Highlights:
Known as a tremendous long-range shooter on his high school basketball squad at Blair High School in Maryland, Brian he led his team to the state championship his senior year in 1975. Magid was the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,067 points, then went on to play guard at Maryland. In his freshman season (1976), Brian played in 21 games and averaged 3.2 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game while hitting 63% of his field goal attempts (29-46). The Terrapins finished the season 22-6 (7-5 in conference), but did not play in the postseason.

The following year, Brian scored 4.0 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game, but Maryland finished 19-8 (repeating its 7-5 in conference stats from the previous season), and again missed the postseason. After the 1977 season, Magid tranferred to George Washington. He finished his college career with GW and was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the eighth round of the 1979 NBA Draft. Brian did not play in the NBA, but chose to play in Europe instead.
