Kent, Jeff

After playing at the University of Rhode Island in the early 1990s, Kent signed with Maccabi Darom in Israel in 1992 and played in the Israel League for most of the 1990s. He is currently a member of SSV Ulm 1846 of the German Bundesliga. In 2000-01, Jeff played in 24 games and averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals.

Career Highlights:
Kent played center at Rhode Island from 1988-1992 and steadily improved each season. After averaging 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game during his freshman season, Jeff averaged double figures in points in his final three seasons. In 1992, his senior year, he averaged career-highs in points (14.7), rebounds (8.5), and assists (1.8) while hitting 40.5% of his 3-pointers (32-79). That season, he helped lead the Rams to the NIT (National Invitational Tournament). After finishing the regular season 20-9, the Rams made it to the third round of the tournament before losing to Utah, 84-72. Kent averaged 14.3 points per game in the tournament.

Ater graduating, Kent signed with Maccabi Darom in the Israel second division and played two seasons ith the club In 1994, he averaged 19.6 points per game. Jeff then moved up to the top league and joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he was a member of the Israeli championship team in 1995, averaging 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He began the next season in Israel but played in only 4 games before he was injured. Kent then returned to the United States and played sparingly in the CBA (Continental Basketball Association) before returning to Israel in 1997.

In 1997-98, Kent was a member of Maccabi Netanya and Maccabi Rishon Le Zion and also played on the Israeli National Team. He remained in Israel until 1999 when he returned to the United States. In 2000, he signed with SSV Ulm 1846 of the German Bundesliga.
