Edward Allen Suisman

A guard and forward at Yale University during the 1920s, Suisman was an excellent scorer and helped lead Yale to the Ivy League crown in 1923. He settled in West Hartford, Connecticut following his basketball career.

Career Highlights:
Suisman grew up in Connecticut and attended Yale University in the mid-1920s. As a sophomore in 1923, he joined the Yale varsity and became one of the top players in the Ivy League. Along with junior Sam Pite, Suisman helped lead Yale to a 7-3 conference record and the Ivy League title (16-3 overall). He finished the season with 121 points in conference play, third most among Ivy League players.

The following season, Suisman remained a top scorer, although Yale's performance as a team was not as stellar. They finished 12-10 overall (3-7 in conference) with Suisman registering 35 points in conference play (14th overall). In 1925, Suisman again finished among the top ten in scoring in the Ivy League. Even as the league's seventh leading scorer with a 4.9 points per game average, Ed could not carry the Bulldogs alone; that season, the squad finished 3-16 (0-10 in conference).
