Career Highlights:
Meisel played at CCNY in the 1920s when City College was one of the best basketball programs in the country. In 1925, Meisel was a backup guard the Beavers, who had a record of 12-2 and were rated among the nation's best (there were no official polls until the late 1940s).

After missing the 1926 season for unknown reasons (the New York Times stated 'he was unable to play'), Meisel returned to the Beavers as a junior the following year and started at guard. The squad finished the season with a record of 9-3, although they lost three of their final five games of the year. Despite their struggles, Meisel scored five points in a 23-22 victory over archrival NYU (New York University) in the final game of the season.

fter winning their first game of the 1928 season, the Beavers dropped their next three to St. John's, Dartmouth, and Lehigh. They then rebounded, however, to win 10 of their next 11 games and finished the season with a record of 11-4. During the streak, CCNY defeated McGill (of Montreal) by a score of 54-23, which set a scoring record on City College's home court. Meisel scored a game-high 12 points in the game.
