Four years later, he faced Hall of Famer Tony Canzoneri and lost an eight-round decision; Canzoneri would fight for the world title the following month. In 1928, Green defeated Joey Scalfaro in a ten-round decision but was knocked out by Kid Chocolate in the fourth round of their bout.
