Career Highlights:
Weinberg, a heavyweight, began his career in 1941 at the age of 18 and fought in the New England area during the early 1940s. In May 1942, he was knocked out in the tenth-round by contender Nathan Mann; they would fight twice more in 1947 with Weinstein losing both bouts. In 1944, he knocked out Finland's Gunnar Barlund in the eighth-round of their bout but lost to former light-heavyweight contender Melio Bettina in 1946. In January 1949, Weinstein lost to an undefeated Roland LaStarza, who would later contend for Rocky Marciano's title. Later in 1949, Weinstein fought the great Joe Louis in a four-round exhibition match in Providence, Rhode Island, but that was the closest he ever got to a title shot. Weinstein fought until 1951 and then retired.
