Brodsky was a light-heavyweight in the 1970s and 1980s.

Career Highlights:
An impressive amateur boxer before turning pro in 1978, Brodsky reached the quarterfinals of the 1969 New York Golden Gloves and the finals of the New Jersey Golden Gloves two years later (he also competed in the 1973 World Games in Israel). After turning professional as a light-heavyweight, he faced Mary Konate (whose given name was Henry) in March 1983 in Scranton, Pennsylvania; Brodsky was knocked out in the first round. After retiring, Brodsky became a probation officer and mentor (and boxing instructor and trainer) for troubled kids on Long Island.
